STEM

Dederang Primary School offers weekly specialised STEM lessons that complement environmental initiatives in our school. Our inquiry-based approach focuses on developing student’s knowledge, understanding and skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Our lessons are structured to engage students in creative, cooperative and curious problem solving. Students are encouraged to think deeply, make hypothesis, trial solutions and reflect on outcomes.

We partner with our local Landcare group to participate in unique environmental initiatives that promote environmental stewardship including planting trees and participating in Clean Up Australia Day. Through these projects, our students gain practical experience in caring for the local environment, developing a strong sense of responsibility and connection to the natural world.

We are also part of the River Detectives program and are closely monitoring the water quality in our school creek.
