Dederang Primary School offers weekly specialised STEM lessons that complement environmental initiatives in our school. Our inquiry-based approach focuses on developing student’s knowledge, understanding and skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Our lessons are structured to engage students in creative, cooperative and curious problem solving. Students are encouraged to think deeply, make hypothesis, trial solutions and reflect on outcomes.
We are also a Resource Smart School and are constantly working towards improving our environmental footprint. We partner with our local Landcare group to participate in unique environmental initiatives. Our senior students participate in the Kids Teaching Kids conference and drive environmental projects in our school.
We are also part of the River Detectives program and are closely monitoring the water quality in our school creek.
