Once a fortnight our students receive specialist art lessons through the Mobile Art Craft Centre (MACC) Van. Lessons run for 1.5 hours and expose students to a range of mediums and skills.
Every Friday, our students participate in multi-age Hands on Learning classes with a focus on sustainability in:
Hands on Learning builds wellbeing, engagement, and increases student achievement by creating opportunities for our students to discover their talents and experience success through practical learning outside of the classroom.
The program helps students feel more confident, self-aware, build positive relationships with peers and try new things.
We take every opportunity for our students to work with the community on community projects. Hands on Learning is a wonderful program that you can be involved in – we love learning new skills from our parent/carer(s) and community members.
We are proud to offer Indigenous Languages as part of our LOTE program.
Our students participate in Dhudhuroa lessons that help preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our area. Students learn how to use the spoken and written Dhudhuroa language to interact with others.
Each year our students engage in Aboriginal Language Day activities with local schools studying the Dhudhuroa language.
Once a fortnight our students receive specialist library lessons through the Mobile Area Resource Centre (MARC) Van.
Lessons run for 1.5 hours. Students receive specialist library classes and borrow the latest books from the Library Van.
Our performing arts program exposes students to a variety of song, dance, musical instruments and theatre. Students learn how to play the recorder, xylophone, ukulele and African drums.
At the end of each school year we put on a whole school production showcasing our learning throughout the year. All students are involved in writing the script, creating props and choreographing dances. The process of getting the production on stage is a huge team effort from students, staff and families.
