Parent Involvement

At Dederang Primary School, we value the partnership between home and school and encourage all parents to be involved in their child’s learning, attend and support school events and volunteer their time to improve the outcomes for all of our students

Volunteering as a parent:

  • Being active supporters of the School Council, and/or its committees
  • Taking part in working bees and fundraising activities
  • Offering yourself as a volunteer at the school as a classroom helper, learning resource centre (library) assistant, excursions/camps assistant, gardener
  • Assisting at special events such as the Family Fun Nights, sausage sizzles, etc…
  • Offering yourself as an outside expert to teach particular skills which would be of value to the pupils at the school, to talk about your job or experiences.
  • Being active supporters of the Parents and Friends Club

Before you can become a Parent Helper you must obtain a Working With Children’s Check and have signed the schools Child Safe Protocol.  Volunteer WWCC are free except for the cost of a photo.
